Etsy Artist of the month:  SimplySusan

About SimplySusan:

I began crafting several years ago with scrapbooking which quickly lead to cardmaking. I began making cards for friends' and relatives' birthdays and other occasions. I eventually branched off into making jewelry as a different creative outlet. I like to mix it up so I don't get particularly burned out on one or the other, but "playing with paper" is my favorite! The variety of paper, cardstock, and embellishments available today is just outstanding and shopping for supplies is so much fun!

I found Etsy about a year ago and became a seller in July 2007. Since then, I have met so many wonderful people. The Etsy community is so much fun and until I became a seller, I had no idea there was such a huge Buy Handmade movement going on. It's really refreshing to see artisans and crafters supporting one another. And not only have I made some good friends through Etsy but there is SUCH talent here! I'm always finding things I want to buy! And it's always such a compliment when someone likes my work enough to purchase them!

Feature 2 : Etsy Artist RockisRocknBeads

About RockisRocknBeads:

I enjoy expressing myself in different mediums with rocks & stones, beads & crystals, fire & metal. The smell of wood and the endless paint colors have recently drawn me closer to creating more with them. I have many ideas on the drawing board and can hardly wait to see them come to life.

So where did this all begin for me? The artisan side has been there all along, but did not fully ā?~wake upā?T until a couple years ago. Sometimes I think my Aunt Bessie (she was an artist until she passed at age 90) continues to encourage me like she did when I was younger. How did Etsy come about? A good friend encouraged me to sign up and I am so thankful she did!

Like most, Iā?Tm inspired by life. Everywhere you look is inspiration: standing in line at a grocery store, driving through the country or city, people watching on a park bench, sitting in your own backyard, etc. The list is endless. Simply take that inspiration, use your imagination and create something wonderful with it!

Etsy Artist  1337Art

About 1337Art:

I started making jewelry when I became tired of coming home empty handed after trying to shop for a quality piece of jewelry that I liked.

Since then I started making other accessories. I want to give people the opportunity to not only buy handmade, but to find something that accents their personal style at a price they can afford.

I'm glad I found Etsy because I have met a lot of great and friendly people, and it has also inspired new designs and items.

I welcome custom orders. It is fun to work with people to design something they have always wanted. If you have a request for something, I will do my best to fulfill it.
